The Spanish island of Mallorca is located in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea. It is a guaranteed sunshine destination for everyone. Whether you come to relax, to party or for a romantic get together, Mallorca has something for everyone.
Force of attraction
Palma de Mallorca is the capital of the island. It is a pleasant town, complete with marina, castle, cathedral, city square and many cosy streets. But that is not what most holiday makers come for: Playa de Palma is a strong force of attraction. Besides sunbathing and swimming, you can try different activities here, such as parasailing, waterskiing and ‘banana riding’. Playa de Palma changes into El Arenal, another hotspot for sun lovers. A vibrant boulevard that connects two seaside resorts runs along the beach. Here you will find shops, restaurants and nice terraces. When the sun sets, the city comes alive: the night life is famous and continues into the late hours. There are a number of Dutch pubs, such as De Zaak, Veronica and 538.
Those who care less about partying can visit the seaside resorts of Mal Pas and Bonaire on the north side of the island. The beach is just as beautiful and especially young families with children feel at home here. Nearby is the atmospheric medieval town of Alcúdia.
Food & drinks in Mallorca
For romantics, Porto Christo is a well-kept secret. Those who wish to impress their loved ones can rent a boat and go to the Caves of Ham and Drach. Followed by a dinner by the sea of course. Romance flourishes with a panoramic view.
