You may have seen it or know about it. An aircraft that is given a water salute or water arc - performed by two fire engines with water cannons - just after landing. This also happened at Eindhoven Airport when Pegasus and more recently Air Arabia, both new airlines to Eindhoven Airport, touched down at our airport for the first time. At Eindhoven Airport, aeroplanes are given a water salute a few times a year. It is a long tradition in the aviation world and is performed on special occasions. At Eindhoven Airport, the fire brigade of Eindhoven Air Base takes care of the water salute in close cooperation with the control tower, Eindhoven Airport and the airline. This impressive event was probably taken over from seafaring.
