Thunderstorm near the airport; what do we do?

Safety always comes first when flying, that's a given. It's also why aviation is governed by all kinds of rules and procedures. Volatile weather conditions may call for additional safety measures. When a thunderstorm strikes, for instance, all work on the apron within five kilometres of Eindhoven Airport is stopped and passengers are not allowed to board or disembark. For people's own safety, nobody should be on the airport apron. This rule is in place to prevent anyone from being struck by lightning. Want to know more? Watch the video here .
