Safety always comes first when flying, that's a given. It's also why aviation is governed by all kinds of rules and procedures. Volatile weather conditions may call for additional safety measures. When a thunderstorm strikes, for instance, all work on the apron within five kilometres of Eindhoven Airport is stopped and passengers are not allowed to board or disembark.
