More than a thousand extra solar panels on roof of Eindhoven Airport terminal

Share

Eindhoven Airport is going to generate substantially more energy by installing additional solar panels on the terminal roof. 1068 solar panels will be installed on the roof in June. This will increase the total number of solar panels to no less than 1708. This will increase the amount of self-generated energy from 200,000 kilowatt hours per year to about 590,000 kilowatt hours per year.

Furthermore, 76 solar panels will be installed on the roof of the General Aviation/Business Aviation terminal in 2023. This will generate about 27,500 kilowatt hours of energy annually. Another 845 solar panels will be installed on the roof of the terminal expansion. These solar panels will generate 230,000 kilowatt hours of self-generated energy annually.

Increasingly generating its own energy is in line with the airport's sustainability plans. It also fits in with the vision of Eindhoven Airport District.
