Eindhoven Airport welcomed almost 6.8 million passengers in 2024

Eindhoven Airport welcomed a total of 6.798.982 passengers (departing and arriving combined) in 2024. This is approximately 15,000 passengers fewer than the record year 2023. In 2022, the total number of passengers was 6.3 million (2019: over 6.7 million).

In 2024, there were 40,826 aircraft movements (take-offs and landings combined) to and from Eindhoven Airport. In 2023, this was 41,496, and in 2022 and 2019, it was 40,252 and 41,438 aircraft movements, respectively. Eindhoven Airport had an authorized number of 41,500 aircraft movements in 2024. Not all of these were carried out. The reason for this is, among other things, that Transavia returned slots in 2024 due to technical problems with aircraft and a lack of crew.

In 2024, May 12 was the busiest day with a total of 24,853 passengers (departing and arriving combined). On the busiest day in 2023, the airport counted 24,597 passengers (2022 and 2019 respectively: 24,071 and 24,874). With 680,953 passengers, May 2024 was the busiest month ever at Eindhoven Airport.

The total number of destinations from Eindhoven Airport decreased from 84 in 2023 to 79 in 2024. Al Hoceima, Oslo, and Tangier were added. Kaunas, Lublin, Fuerteventura, Poznan, Riga, Rzeszow, Suceava, and Tuzla were removed as destinations. Just like last year, Malaga, London (Stansted), and Alicante were the top 3 destinations with the most passengers.

2024 also marked the beginning of the terminal expansion. On November 18, during the official ‘start of construction’ moment, Roel Hellemons (CEO of Eindhoven Airport) symbolically handed over the key to the construction site to Ton Hillen (CEO of Heijmans). The first construction activities began in November. Eindhoven Airport is expanding the terminal because the current terminal is too small for the current number of passengers. The current terminal was built for a maximum of 5 million passengers per year. Currently, the airport has approximately 6.8 million passengers per year. The expansion will provide passengers with more space, comfort, and experience.
