Eindhoven Airport switches to HVO100 renewable diesel. Up to 90% less CO2e emissions on airport apron.

Eindhoven Airport will stop using fossil diesel as fuel for its diesel-powered ramp equipment and vehicles from 15 August. The airport will switch completely to using HVO100, produced by Neste under the brand name Neste MY Renewable Diesel and supplied by OK Oliecentrale. HVO100 is a renewable fuel that significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions from combustion processes. Compared to fossil diesel, HVO100 reduces CO2e emissions by up to 90%, fine particles by up to 33%, and nitrogen oxides by up to 9%. Neste MY's HVO100 is produced only from renewable organic raw materials, whose suppliers meet strict sustainability criteria.

The transition to HVO100 is an interim step by Eindhoven Airport in making its ground-based equipment and ramp vehicles more sustainable. By 2030, these categories will be fully electrified. Availability of the electric-powered alternatives and the electricity required will determine the pace at which the airport can switch over with its operational partners. Until then, the remaining diesel-powered equipment and vehicles will use HVO100 to reduce climate impact and improve air quality.
