Supported by students of the Design Academy Eindhoven, the second edition of Feel the Vibe at Eindhoven Airport opened today: Working Through Conditions / Conditioning.

Working Through Conditions / Conditioning

Building on the well-known De Stijl art movement, second-year Master's students in Social Design from the Design Academy Eindhoven (DAE) redesigned the three display cases on the forecourt of Eindhoven Airport. The three new installations reflect both objects from the Van Abbe Museum collection and characteristics of Eindhoven Airport and its travellers. They offer visitors a new way of looking at, listening to and moving through the airport.

Feel the vibe at Eindhoven Airport

In a multi-year collaboration with the Van Abbe Museum, under the title Feel the Vibe at Eindhoven Airport, the airport is presenting - in changing compositions - the typical vibe of the city of Eindhoven known for technology, design and knowledge. The first edition in 2020 showed works by The Ruggeds and Tijs Rooijakkers. The showcases were designed by Piet Hein Eek with graphic design by Marc Koppen.

The second edition of Feel the Vibe at Eindhoven Airport came about with students from the DAE's Social Design master's course and was realized by the student collectives Hokjesdenkers, Percolate Collective and Re_move. The concept and organization was in the hands of Amal Alhaag and Anastasia Kubrak. The installations are also officially part of the Dutch Design Week, but can be seen at Eindhoven Airport until the middle of next year.
