Canopy over walkways on apron completed

Share

The construction of the gallery covering the walkways on the platform of Eindhoven Airport has been completed. The roofing, which is approximately 600 metres long, offers extra comfort to travellers because of the protection it provides against the weather. In addition, the special design of the gallery, with its ceiling decorated with Brabant icons from the past, present and future, gives a picture of Eindhoven and the Brainport region. The design is inspired by 'Poplar Avenue in Autumn' the painting that Van Gogh painted in Nuenen in 1884. The traveler walks through 'the avenue' and gets to know the region through the illustrations that refer to Van Gogh, innovations/technology, architecture, art and culture. In the wall there is extra attention for PSV and Brainport Eindhoven because of the mark they leave on Eindhoven and the region. By paying ample attention to the Brainport region in the design of the gallery, it is a calling card for the region.
