With one million inhabitants, Naples is the third-largest city in Italy. It boasts a spectacular location close to Mount Vesuvius volcano, offers famous views of the Bay of Naples, and is not far from the extraordinary islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida. In economic terms, Naples is one of the most important ports in the Mediterranean.

Romantic, narrow and winding streets, but also plenty of sights and a beautiful promenade: that’s what typifies Naples.
Spaccanapoli is the opposite of the city’s typical narrow and winding streets. This street is straight, three kilometres long and traverses the heart of the old town.
Naples is also known as a layered city. Vincenzo Albertini, a speleologist, leads tourists through the underworld of Naples. In the underground cisterns of old tuff, a subterranean system of corridors and chambers lies hidden.
A visit to the excavated city of Pompeii, for which Naples serves as the ideal home base, is a must. You can spend hours walking freely through the streets of Pompeii.
