Installing water bladders to collect and recycle rainwater reuse rainwater for toilet flushing
Water bladders are being installed in the baggage basement with a storage capacity of 320,000 litres of rainwater. This water will be used to flush the toilets in the terminal extension. By implementing this water storage system, we will save approximately 1.5 million litres of drinking water each year, contributing to our sustainability goals. Collecting rainwater also helps us adapt to climate change, enabling us to better manage increasingly intense rainfall events and more frequent periods of extreme heat. In addition to the water bladders, a 2,000-square-metre green roof (sedum roof) is being installed on the entrance building. This green roof slows down the drainage of rainwater, reducing pressure on the sewer system.
