Ad and Mieke van den Heuvel from Cobbeek in Veldhoven are one of the neighbours of Eindhoven Airport. They fly twice a year from Eindhoven Airport for their holidays. “We go to the airport by bus. It's great that we can fly from an airport that's so close to home,” says Mieke. The neighbours are happy with the compact and well-organised airport, which they say creates very little noise pollution above their home. For local residents for whom the noise is a problem, they see the benefits of no longer scheduling flights after eleven in the evening. Ad: “It's also good that efforts are being made to reduce emissions because a balance between economy and environment is important.” Mieke enjoys flying. “But there should also be high-speed train connections so that people have a choice how they wish to travel.”
