Eindhoven Airport and other Dutch airports start trial with electric aviation

Generating knowledge about the feasibility and potential of electric aviation and gaining experience in handling electric passenger flights in the Netherlands. And then spreading those wings to European destinations. That is the goal of Power Up: an electric aviation test that Eindhoven Airport has initiated in collaboration with Rotterdam-The Hague Airport and Groningen Airport Eelde. The Royal Netherlands Aerospace Centre and Royal Schiphol Group are supporting the trial.

We will use the obtained test results in the Netherlands to conduct research into operating scheduled flights with electric aircraft within Europe. The ultimate goal is to connect regions with each other and to establish a finely meshed European network. The first electric passenger planes are expected to fly between the Dutch airports within five years.
