In the past the city endured quite some violence of war, but that time has passed. The city has had a facelift but with respect for what has been. Belgrade is nowadays known as a safe city that is well visited by Bosnians, Croats and Slovenians every weekend. This is not without reason…

Safe and cosy

According to Lonely Planet, Belgrade offers ‘the best night life in the world’. The city has a wide range of floating river clubs and underground cafes where you can dance until the sun comes up. It is safe, the atmosphere is renowned and the drinks are relatively cheap. All the more reason to take a look around.

After going out, it is time for some cultural development. Despite the violence of war, historical heritage is amply represented: the National Theatre, the Temple of Saint Sava, the Old Palace, the Students Square, the Military Museum and the National Museum (with over 400,000 items) all paint a picture of the identity of Belgrade and its inhabitants.

Price friendly Belgrade

Belgrade has two large shopping centres: Delta City and Usce. In addition, there are various shopping streets such as Bulevar Kralja and Terazije. Well-known Western chains are fully present and have one advantage: prices are much friendlier here. Belgrade is therefore a paradise for shoppers.

Definite must

For the public at large, Belgrade is still a relatively unknown destination. Yet it is a definite must for an original city trip: there is much to do, prices are good and from Eindhoven Airport it only takes two hours and fifteen minutes to fly to this surprising destination.
